Chanzo: Secretaría de Trabajo y Seguridad Social (STSS) / El Heraldo (Acuerdo SETRASS-233-2026, La Gaceta No. 37,129) · inatumika 1 Jan 2026
Secretaría de Trabajo y Seguridad Social (STSS) / El Heraldo (Acuerdo SETRASS-233-2026, La Gaceta No. 37,129)Honduras has a NATIONAL statutory minimum wage but no single rate: it is a matrix of 12 economic activities x 4 company-size brackets (1-10, 11-50, 51-150, 151+ workers), plus a separate free-zone/maquila rate, set by the tripartite Acuerdo SETRASS-233-2026 (published in La Gaceta No. 37,129, signed 29 Apr 2026, applicable for 2026-2027, retroactive to 1 Jan 2026). Because there is no single 'standard' tier, I report the official NATIONAL AVERAGE monthly minimum wage of L14,917.20/month for 2026 (up from L13,985.16 in 2025). Individual sector/size rates range roughly L12,192-L16,911/month; STSS also publishes the average as L497.24 per 8-hour day and L62.16 per hour. weekly_hours_used=44 reflects Honduras' statutory ordinary daytime workweek (8h/day, 44h/week, Labor Code Art. 322); per the rules I did not compute the hourly figure myself. The free-zone/maquila rate effective 1 Jan 2026 is L12,930.07/month. Mandatory 13th (aguinaldo) and 14th (bono educativo) salaries are paid separately and not included here.
