Cyprus Ministry of Labour - Statutory Minimum Wage Decree (Cap. 183), as reported by Cyprus Mail / Harris KyriakidesCyprus introduced its first national statutory minimum wage in January 2023 under Minimum Wage Law Cap. 183, aligning with EU Directive 2022/2041. The latest Decree sets the gross monthly minimum at EUR 1,088 for full-time employees after completing 6 months of continuous employment with the same employer, effective 1 Jan 2026 (binding until 31 Dec 2027), an 8.8% rise from the prior EUR 1,000. Sub-minimum: EUR 979 gross/month for the first 6 months of employment (entry/probationary rate). Cyprus does NOT publish an official native hourly rate; the figure is monthly. The government has indicated discussions on possibly introducing an hourly minimum wage in future. weekly_hours_used=40 assumed standard full-time week for any hourly derivation (statutory maximum is 48h/week incl. overtime). Eurostat lists Cyprus at EUR 1,088 for 2026, corroborating the figure. Note: one source (CXC) cited EUR 1,125, which conflicts with the official decree, Eurostat, and majority of payroll/legal sources confirming EUR 1,088.
