WageIndicator.org - Costa Rica (based on Decreto Ejecutivo N° 45303-MTSS, MTSS / Consejo Nacional de Salarios)Costa Rica has no single national minimum wage; the MTSS Consejo Nacional de Salarios sets 30+ occupation-specific rates annually by executive decree, effective 1 January each year. For 2026 a general private-sector increase of 1.63% was applied via Decreto Ejecutivo N° 45303-MTSS (published Dec 2025). I report the STANDARD adult full-time tier covering the largest group: 'Trabajador no calificado genérico' (generic unskilled worker) = CRC 373,092.42/month (daily equivalent CRC 12,436.41). Other tiers exist by skill (semi-skilled, skilled, specialized, university bachiller, licenciado) and special categories (domestic work +3.96%, ~CRC 268,608/month; specialized occupations +2.18%; middle technicians +2.50%). weekly_hours_used=48 reflects Costa Rica's standard ordinary daytime workweek (8h/day, 6 days) under the Código de Trabajo. Rate published monthly/daily, not hourly. Cross-checked against salariocr.com and softland.com which confirm the same decree and 1.63% increase.
