Government of Romania / Monitorul Oficial (HG 1506/2024 current rate; HG 146/2026 July increase)Current standard adult full-time gross national minimum wage (salariul de baza minim brut pe tara garantat in plata) is RON 4,050/month, in effect since 1 Jan 2025 and maintained through 30 June 2026. Romania publishes the minimum as a MONTHLY gross figure (not a native hourly rate). Statutory full-time schedule is 40 hours/week; the government decree expresses it as an average 166.667 hours/month (RON 4,050/month ~ RON 24.3/hour). SCHEDULED INCREASE: from 1 July 2026 the gross minimum rises to RON 4,325/month (~RON 25.949/hour per HG 146/2026, published in Monitorul Oficial 13 Mar 2026; legal basis OUG 89/2025, transposing EU Adequate Minimum Wage Directive via Law 283/2024). Sector sub-rate: construction sector minimum is RON 4,582/month (higher, unchanged). The separate agriculture/food-industry minimum (also RON 4,050) is abolished from 1 July 2026, aligning it with the general rate. No distinct national youth/apprentice sub-minimum in the wage decree itself.
