Hong Kong Labour Department - Statutory Minimum WageHong Kong publishes the Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) as a single hourly rate that applies universally to all adult full-time employees with no age, region, or sector tiers. The rate rose from HK$40.0 (1 May 2023) to HK$42.1 (1 May 2025) and then to HK$43.1 effective 1 May 2026 under the new annual review mechanism; since today is 19 June 2026, HK$43.1/hour is the prevailing rate. The official Labour Department page still showed the change as upcoming ("increase from $42.1 to $43.1 with effect from 1 May 2026"), confirming the figure. Note: the general SMW does NOT cover foreign domestic helpers, who have a separate Minimum Allowable Wage (HK$5,100/month plus food allowance) - that group is excluded here as the standard tier is the universal hourly SMW.
