Fair Work Ombudsman (Australian Government) - Annual Wage Review 2024-25 media releaseNational Minimum Wage set annually by the Fair Work Commission. Rate in effect as of today (19 June 2026) is the 2024-25 Annual Wage Review outcome: AUD 24.95/hour, equivalently AUD 948.00/week based on Australia's standard 38-hour full-time week (a 3.5% rise from the prior AUD 24.10/hr). This is the base adult rate for award/agreement-free full-time employees - the standard tier. Other tiers exist: casuals get a 25% loading (min AUD 31.19/hr); juniors (under 21), apprentices/trainees, and supported (disability) employees receive lower 'special national minimum wages'; ~20.7% of employees are instead covered by industry/occupational award minimums (generally at or above the NMW). IMPORTANT FORWARD NOTE: The 2025-26 Annual Wage Review lifted the NMW by 6% to approximately AUD 26.44-26.45/hour, but that takes effect only from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026 and is NOT yet in force, so AUD 24.95/hr remains the current statutory rate. No regional variation - the NMW is national.
