Decreto-Lei n.º 139/2025, de 29 de dezembro (Diário da República)Portugal sets a Guaranteed Minimum Monthly Wage (Retribuição Mínima Mensal Garantida, RMMG), not a native hourly rate. RMMG = EUR 920.00 gross/month for mainland (Continente), effective 1 Jan 2026, up EUR 50 from EUR 870 (2025), set by Decreto-Lei n.º 139/2025 (revokes DL 112/2024). Paid in 14 instalments (12 months + holiday and Christmas subsidies). Statutory full-time week is 40 hours; an implied hourly rate is approx EUR 6.19 (920*14/52/40) but is NOT officially published. Autonomous regions have higher regional minimums: Azores EUR 966, Madeira EUR 968. Part-time pay is prorated. No general statutory youth/apprentice sub-minimum below the RMMG. Eurostat publishes ~EUR 1,073 (annualised/12) for cross-EU comparison; the contractual monthly figure is EUR 920. Roadmap (2025-2028 tripartite accord): EUR 970 in 2027, EUR 1,020 in 2028.
