Employment New Zealand (Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment)

Adult minimum wage tier (covers the largest group of workers aged 16+), published natively per hour. Effective 1 April 2026, up from NZD 23.50. Two lower tiers also exist: starting-out and training wages, both NZD 19.16/hour (80% of adult rate). No minimum wage applies to employees under 16. Rates are uniform nationally (no regional/sector variation). Confirmed by official government source and MBIE announcement.
