Minimum wage (gross)
Source: Labklājības ministrija (Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia) · effective Jan 1, 2026
Labklājības ministrija (Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia)Latvia sets a statutory MONTHLY minimum wage of EUR 780 (gross, full-time, normal working time) effective 1 January 2026, up from EUR 740 in 2025. Set by Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 656 (24.11.2015) as amended by Reg. No. 680 of 19.11.2025. Latvia does NOT publish a fixed annual native hourly rate; instead the minimum hourly tariff rate is calculated each month from the monthly minimum divided by that month's normal working hours, so it varies month to month (roughly EUR 4.7-4.9/hr at ~160-166 hours). Standard normal working time is 40 hours/week. One single minimum wage binds all employers; no separate national youth/apprentice sub-minima are set at the national level. Future planned increases: EUR 820 (2027), EUR 860 (2028).
